Leadless NTC Thermistors
North Star Sensors chip thermistors (thermistor without leads) may be mounted on hybrid integrated circuits, integrated circuits, or printed circuit boards by conductive epoxy bonding or by soldering. Lead attachment to top surface of the thermistor die may be accomplished by wire bonding, conductive epoxy bonding or soldering.
Typical applications for leadless NTC chip thermistors are for circuit over-temperature protection and/or temperature compensation.
Because leadless NTC thermistors are uncoated, suitable protection must be provided for the thermistors during operation and storage.
